NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for an e-bike rider who attacked a pedestrian with a bike lock, breaking the man's wrist and hand.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the southeast corner of Union Square in Manhattan. Police say the victim, a 29-year-old man, was walking in a crosswalk when a man on a e-bike stopped in front of the victim and asked him, "Why did you cut me off?"
The e-bike rider then spit in the victim's face, followed him down the street and hit him with a U-lock. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The rider fled on foot. He is described as a 30-year-old man of medium complexion who is appoximately 5'8" and 160 pounds with short dark hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a grey hat, blue jacket, black sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black sneakers.
