NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Brooklyn schoolteacher was arrested Monday and is accused of having a months-long sexual encounters with a fifth-grade girl.
Daniel Santiago, 29, was handcuffed at PS 244 in East Flatbush Monday morning and led away by police.
He's accused of fondling the 11-year-old girl and repeatedly sending her sexually explicit text messages over the last seven or eight weeks.
In a statement, the Department of Education said Santiago was immediately reassigned away from the classroom as the allegations were being investigated.

Parents were furious when they heard about the allegations.
"I have a daughter. I have a son," one dad said. "I'm sick to my stomach just to hear it."
Santiago faces a charge of sex abuse in the first degree.
