EMT who suffered medical episode responding to crash released from hospital

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An EMS lieutentant who suffered a medical episode while responding to a crash on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway earlier this month was released from the hospital Wednesday.

EMS Lieutenant Raymond Wang was discharged from Mt. Sinai Medical Center, cheered on by FDNY personnel as he exited.


Earlier this month, Wang was in a vehicle behind an ambulance on the BQE.

When he saw the ambulance veer off the road, he stopped to assist.

The driver had suffered a stroke.

Wang then suffered an aoritic aneurism.

A physician who had been traveling with Wang was able to assist both men.

Liam Glinane, 63, who suffered the stroke, also survived.
