NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The children of a 9/11 firefighter whose invention earned them a deal on the ABC reality show "Shark Tank" made an emotional donation to FDNY charities.
Kaley Young, 25, said the words "Thank you" can't express how she and her two younger siblings feel about all the help they've received since their firefighter father Keith Young died of 9/11-related cancer a year ago.
But Kaley, Christian and Keira Young are hoping a $41,000 check to the FDNY Foundation will help.
The three raised the money since appearing on "Shark Tank," where they sought and received an investment for their father's cutting board invention, the Cut Board Pro.
Shark Daymond John says Kaley is a tower of strength.
"Kaley is raising the two kids; she's running her mother's pilates gym; she finished college; put the Cut Board Pro out – all at the same time," John said. "Her father must be so proud and her mother."
The siblings' mother also died of cancer in 2012.
Shark Lori Greiner says the siblings have accomplished a lot amid tragedy.
"They have done more within a handful of months to make that business grow and thrive," she said.
