NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mets Hall of Famer Dwight Gooden was arrested Monday night for driving under the influence after he was spotted driving down the wrong way on a one-way Newark street, the New York Post reported.
The arrest comes less than two months after Gooden -- who was also a pitcher for the Yankees -- was arrested in New Jersey for possession of cocaine, according to court documents.
Gooden -- who was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 2010 with Davey Johnson and Darryl Strawberry -- was busted around 11:10 p.m in the city's Ironbound neighborhood, unnamed sources told the Post.
Gooden planned to enter rehab.
"He'd pee'd himself," a source told the newspaper, adding that Gooden told police officers he was diabetic, although it's unclear if he is.
The 54-year-old was then taken to Newark's University Hospital.
His cocaine bust on June 7 also involved some wonky driving: Holmdel police pulled him over around 1 a.m. for failure to maintain a lane, driving too slow and having overly-tinted windows.
Police then allegedly found him with "two, small green zip-lock style plastic baggies containing suspected cocaine," according to a criminal complaint filed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
He was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence at the time.
Gooden, 54, has a long history of cocaine abuse. He went to rehab after testing for cocaine in 1987, following the Mets' World Series win.
