NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for three suspects involved in a gunpoint robbery at a NoMad cocktail bar early Monday morning, during which workers were bound in electrical cords and tape while thieves made off with a safe, DJ equipment, and liquor.
At about 4 a.m. three suspects forced their way into Obvio Cocktail Bar, located at 3 East 28th St., officials said.
One of the suspects was armed with a black pistol equipped with an extended magazine.
The robbers targeted two male employees, ages 38 and 43, and forced them into separate bathrooms. The victims had their hands bound with electrical cords and tape before being locked inside, authorities said.
Once the workers were restrained, the suspects ransacked the venue, making off with a stolen safe containing approximately $7,000 in cash, DJ equipment valued at approximately $13,000, and multiple bottles of liquor valued at approximately $7,000, according to the NYPD.
The two victims managed to free themselves and contacted authorities. Both sustained redness and irritation to their wrists from the restraints, but refused medical attention at the scene.
