NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Facebook has rolled out two new reactions. A purple heart and an emoji hugging a heart that mean "care" was created for users to be able to check-in with their friends and family as people continue to socially distance themselves amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The new addition is "a way for people to share their support with one another during this unprecedented time," according to a Facebook executive. "We hope these reactions give people additional ways to show their support during the #COVID19 crisis."
The "care" reaction is the first addition since other reactions were added from the original "like" button back in 2015.
Some users are already able to use the new emoji on Facebook and Messenger and they will begin to appear for other users over the next few days.
