NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for two men who beat and robbed a man in his apartment after claiming to be the building's superintendents.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Sunday. They say the two men targeted a resident living near Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 141st Street in Harlem earlier this month.
The two men knocked on the 40-year-old victim's door. When he answered, they forced their way inside and took out a pistol, according to police.
They pistol whipped the man and demanded to know where he kept his money and jewelry, police said.
The duo made off with a backpack full of headphones, cell phone chargers and personal papers, according to police.
The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
