NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police say they’re searching for a pair of bad guys who pretended to be good guys before beating and robbing a motorist in Queens.
The NYPD says the two men attacked the motorist during a heated argument last Saturday in Astoria.
The two suspects were fighting with two other motorists near Hoyt Avenue North and 26 Street before the confrontation turned violent, police say.
One of the suspects flashed a badge and claimed to be an "undercover cop" during the quarrel, according to police.

When one of the victims, a 38-year-old man, attempted to take a photo of the suspect’s license plate, he slapped the phone out of the victim’s hand, punched him and broke his side-view mirror, police say.
The second suspect then picked up the phone and the two suspects drove off, according to police.
EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital-Queens, where he was treated and released.
The NYPD believes the suspects are in their mid-to-late 20s.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
