NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Dr. Anthony Fauci has emerged as the White House coronavirus task force's fan favorite, so it comes as little surprise that a painting of the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has fetched a high price.
Brooklyn artist Jeremy Penn -- whose past subjects have included Diane von Furstenberg, Kate Moss, John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld -- debuted the painting in April, titling it Anthony "Scientific Street Cred" Fauci.
It's 30" wide x 46" high and it's acrylic with spray paint on oxidized mirrored aluminum.
So how much did a Fauci fan pay? Close to $15,000, according to Page Six.
Proceeds will go to the charities True Hero Fund and No Kid Hungry.
