NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith, who left the network last October, is heading to CNBC, the network announced on Wednesday.
He will anchor a new one-hour evening news program on the business-oriented cable network called "The News with Shepard Smith."
It will debut in the fall during the 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. time slot, Monday through Friday.
CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman said in a statement, "Information is coming at us from every direction," Mr. Hoffman said in a statement. "If we're not careful life-altering decisions will be made based on half-truth, rumor, misdirection or worse. We aim to deliver a nightly program that, in some small way, looks for the signal in all the noise."
