NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- On Thursday a memorial prayer service was held at Cadman Plaza Park in downtown Brooklyn at 1 p.m., in honor of George Floyd, his family, who helped organized it.
At the same time as the Brooklyn service, there will be a service in Minneapolis.
At his Thursday briefing, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a 2 p.m. statewide moment of silence.

After the memorial prayer service, there will be a march afterwards that will head over the Brooklyn Bridge and end at Foley Square in lower Manhattan.
The mayor and his wife Chirlane McCray will make their way across the Brooklyn Bridge to Foley Square with marchers.
A family spokesperson said that the list of invitees includes New York Attorney General Letitia James, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Comptroller Scott Stringer,Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, and George's younger brother, Terrance Floyd.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea have been invited but have not responded.
