NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Rudy Giuliani said he called the NYPD on Sacha Baron Cohen after the actor and prankster set up a fake interview for him in Manhattan this week.
Giuliani, who is President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, told the New York Post's Page Six that he went to the Mark Hotel on Tuesday for what he was told would be an interview about the Trump administration's COVID-19 response.
Giuliani sat down to be interviewed by a woman when he said, "This guy comes running in, wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit."
The man was Cohen in a pink bikini, and Giuliani said Cohen was "yelling and screaming."
"I thought this must be a scam or a shake-down, so I reported it to the police," the former New York City mayor said. "He then ran away."
The NYPD responded, but Cohen was not apprehended. He was reportedly last seen running down 77th Street in a bathrobe.
"I felt good about myself because he didn't get me," Giuliani said, admitting that he was a fan of some of Cohen's movies, including "Borat."
The NYPD didn't comment, nor did a representative for Cohen.
