SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (1010 WINS)  -- A 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook Southern California Thursday.

This is the largest temblor to hit that region in decades.

The quake's magnitude was revised from 6.6 to 6.4 by USGS.

It was centered in the Searles Valley, a remote area of San Bernardino according to the LA Times.

There have been reports of aftershocks that occurred one after another, hitting the area around the main quake.

Seismologists say there is about a one in 20 chance of a bigger earthquake in the next day or so.

Before the 6.4 magnitude hit there was 4.2 magnitude.
