NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Officials released images Thursday of the five people who they say allegedly sprayed a chemical substance at Rite Aid employees in Brookly earlier this month.
Police say just before 9 p.m. on Dec. 8 four men and a woman entered the Rite Aid store on Mermaid Avenue in the Coney Island section and began to remove candy from the shelves.
Employees confronted the group as they attempted to exit through the front door and that's when authorities say a physical confrontation ensued.
Officials say the woman sprayed two employees with an unknown chemical substance before all the suspects fled.
The suspects took about $40 worth of candy.
Authorities say the employees were treated at the scene for skin and eye irritation.
Police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
