Here are 7 new NYC weekend outdoor dining locations

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York City has added seven new outdoor dining locations to its “Open Streets: Restaurants” program, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Friday.

The following locations have been added to the program, which brings outdoor dining to car-free streets on Friday nights and weekends: 

  • Grand Street, from Marcy Avenue to Roebling Street in Brooklyn (Gertie Restaurant LLC)
  • Duane Street, from Hudson Street to West Broadway in manhattan (Khe-Yo)
  • Reade Street, from West Broadway to Greenwich Street in Manhattan (Restaurant Marc Forgione)
  • Rivington Street, from Chrystie Street to Bowery in Manhattan (Ray’s Bar)
  • St. Marks Place, from 1st Avenue to Avenue A in Manhattan (St. Marks Business Coalition)
  • West 47th Street, from Broadway to 8th Avenue in Manhattan (Times Square Alliance)
  • 9th Street, from New Dorp Lane to Rose Avenue on Staten Island (New Dorp BID)

“As we prepare for the return of indoor dining on Sept. 30, we’re proud to continue supporting businesses by expanding car-free outdoor dining in neighborhoods across the city,” de Blasio said in a statement.

“Open Restaurants has been a popular program from the beginning, and Open Streets: Restaurants has expanded options even further while changing the way we think about our streets,” he added.
