Increased tolls on MTA bridges and tunnels are now in effect

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) New tolls on MTA bridges and tunnels are now in effect.

Without EZ Pass, it will cost $9.50 to cross a river.

With EZ Pass, it will cost $6.12. That's an increase of 36 cents.

At the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, the EZ Pass toll will go up 72 cents to $12.24, with the non EZ Pass toll jumping from 17 to 19 dollars.

The base fare won't change, but Metrocard bonuses will disappear.

Express fare will be raised from $6.50 to $6.75.

Seven day passes will rise from $32 to $33 and 30-day passes from $121 to $127.
