NEW YORK (1010 WINS) The Indian Army claims to have found evidence of the mythical Himalayan beast the Yeti.

The official verified Twitter account of the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Pubic Information tweeted a photograph on Tuesday of what it claimed were Yeti tracks.

For the first time, an #IndianArmy Moutaineering Expedition Team has sited Mysterious Footprints of mythical beast 'Yeti' measuring 32x15 inches close to Makalu Base Camp on 09 April 2019. According to the tweet, the footprints measured 32 by 15 inches and were found close to Makalu Base Camp.

The message goes on to say that the “elusive snowman has only been sighted at Makalu-Barun National Park in the past.”

The Indian Army said in March that an 18 person unit would be traveling to Mount Makalu as a part of a quest to reach the top of all mountains above 8,000 meters, according to a statement.

The Yeti is part of folklore dating back 350 years, but no research has proven its existence.

Most “Yeti” samples have been shown to be from bears.
