NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- JetBlue is adding 30 new domestic routes within the next few months, including 15 to and from the three New York City-area airports.
The new routes will "serve customers in markets where leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) travel is showing some signs of strength," JetBlue said in a release on Thursday.
"Coronavirus has transformed airline route maps, and as we begin to see small signs of recovery, we continue to be flexible with our network plans to respond to demand trends and generate cash in support of our business," JetBlue's head of revenue and planning, Scott Laurence, said in a statement.
The new domestic routes will include the following New York City-based ones:
Effective July 23
- New Mint service between Newark Airport and:
- Los Angeles International Airport
- San Francisco International Airport
- New service between Newark Liberty International Airport and:
- Charleston International Airport
- Jacksonville International Airport
- New service between JFK Airport and:
- Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
Effective Aug. 6
- New service between Newark Airport and:
- Austin–Bergstrom International Airport
- San Diego International Airport
- Las Vegas McCarran International Airport
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
- Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport
- New service between JFK Airport and:
- Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport
- New service between LaGuardia Airport and:
- Fort Myers Southwest Florida International Airport
- Tampa International Airport
Effective Oct. 1
- New service between JFK Airport and:
- St. Thomas Cyril E. King Airport
