NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Jewish community rallied in Crown Heights on Wednesday to call for an end to anti-Semitic hate crimes around the city after the latest attack against two Hasidic men was reported.
Police are searching for two Hispanic teens who they say attacked two Hasidic men in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
On September 20, at 9:00 p.m., two Hasidic men were standing at the northwest corner of South 10 Street and Wythe Avenue, in Brooklyn, when the two suspects slapped their Shtreimels (religious hats) off their heads before fleeing the scene on foot, police say.
The men were not injured and and no arrests have been made at this time.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
Police describe the suspects as Hispanic teens, about 15-years-old.
Event organizer Liel Leibovitz says it's important for all Jewish people, orthodox or not, to stand up against hate.
"All of us, irrespective of what we wear and what we believe, are standing together just before the new year and saying we’re not gonna let this stand," Leibovitz said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
