In the case of former Deputy Director James Grant, the jury found that lavish gifts were not part of an illegal quid-pro-quo. Those gifts included a Super Bowl trip to Las Vegas with a prostitute included, toys for his kids, and diamond earrings for his wife.
Businessman Jeremy Reichberg couldn't stay out of the corruption crosshair.
A juror explained the reasoning.
"We go over it all sorts of different ways, it's like is this part of the count? Yes. Is this part of the count? Yes," she said.
Reichberg directed the gift giving to police in exchange for escorts and a gun permit. He worked hand in hand with star witness Jonah Reichnitz, both were generous donors to Mayor Bill de Blasio.
