NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Fifteen people are injured after an MTA bus crashed in the Bronx on Friday, according to the FDNY.
Fire officials and medics responded to calls reporting a crash at 3919 Baychester Ave. in Edenwald, located between Grenada Place and Strang Avenue, at about 12:37 p.m.
Nine people were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, one in serious condition, officials said. Six others refused medical attention at the scene.
An MTA spokesperson confirmed the incident and said it involved a Bx16 bus.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear. An investigation is ongoing.
