The Daily Beast reports, Blaine is being investigated in connection with allegations that he sexually assaulted two women.
A senior NYPD official reportedly told the Daily Beast that detectives have taken statements from two women, but that one of the claims may fall outside of the statute of limitations. The woman claims she was assaulted by Blaine and a friend in his Manhattan apartment back in 1998, a person familiar with the complaint said.
“The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously," Chief Spokesman Phil Walzak said in a statement to the Daily Beast, "and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors.”
The department declined to comment further.
Blaine has not been charged, and he declined to comment as well.
He has previously been accused of raping former model Natasha Prince. After taking a statement from Prince, Scotland Yard declined to take further action.
