Man arrested after breaking into NYPD stationhouse, wearing stolen uniform

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a Brooklyn man on Wednesday, they say snuck into an NYPD stationhouse, stole a officer's uniform and made claims he was heading to work at One Police Plaza in Manhattan.

According to a criminal complaint, 28-year-old Baruch Ezagui was caught carrying crack into the 71st Precinct stationhouse in Crown Heights around 8:10 p.m., Tuesday.

Ezagui was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Wednesday night where he was charged with criminal trespass, impersonation of police officer and possession of drugs and stolen property.

 He was held on a $10,000 bond.Authorities say Ezagui snuck into the downstairs area of the precinct stationhouse, rummaged through a female officer’s locker, and stole a woman's police uniform that was inside.

Ezagui was wearing the uniform when he was confronted by an officer.

The criminal report stated that Ezahui told the officer "I am being promoted to detective," and claimed that he worked at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.Court papers say that a day before he was arrested, Ezagui was charged with criminal contempt for breaking an order of protection by banging on a victim’s door and yelling "order me food" and then fleeing the building.Ezagui has a long list of prior arrests including burglary, assault, drugs, petty larceny and criminal mischief, woth five of those cases still pending in court, according to records.
