NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man they said attacked and robbed a man while inside the restroom of a Bronx Burlington Coat Factory last week.
On September 18, just before 2 p.m., a 63-year-old man was using the bathroom at the store located at 700 Exterior Street, when the suspect came from behind, placed him in a chokehold, and removed $40 cash from his jacket pocket, police said.
The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction, according to officials.
The victim sustained a laceration to his lower lip but refused medical attention.
Police describe the suspect as a man with a dark complexion, weighing 170 pounds, approximately 6'0" tall with short dark hair.
He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, black baseball cap, blue jeans, a grey and black striped shirt, black sneakers, a black backpack, and a surgical mask, officials said.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
