On August 25 at approximately 6 p.m., police said a 32-year-old man boarded a southbound 6 train at Soundview Avenue.

According to officials, while the train was in motion, the victim was approached by two unknown men who asked the victim if he was OK.

The suspects then told the victim to give them everything, and one of the men removed a long sharp object from his waistband area and stabbed the victim in the right side of his torso, police said.

Both men then removed the victim's backpack from his back, wallet from his right pocket, BOSE earbuds in a case from his front left pocket, and a Samsung Galaxy S10 from his hand, authorities said.

Both men fled the train at the Brook Avenue station upon the train doors opening.

The victim chased after the males and was able to retrieve his backpack. At this time one of the males displayed the same long sharp object and stabbed the victim again, once in each arm and once to his head and face.

The suspect then fled the location to parts unknown officials said.

The victim was removed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police describe the suspects as men with a light complexion, in their mid-30s, approximately 5'9" to 5'10" tall, weighing 150 pounds and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
