NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 28-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after he threatened a bus driver with a gun on the Upper West Side, the NYPD said.
The suspect, identified as Tony Burnett, attempted to catch the M11 bus at Columbus Avenue and West 85th Street around 8 a.m., but the bus pulled away before he could board.
Burnett then proceeded to jump in a taxi, and catch-up with the bus after two blocks.
He then exited the taxi, ran up to the bus, and waved a handgun at the 55-year-old bus driver, yelling "Why didn't you stop for me?"
Police later spotted him, based on the description of him given by eyewitnesses, a few blocks away at West 83rd Street and Central Park West.
He was then arrested.
Police found a loaded .38 caliber revolver (pictured, above) in a duffel bag Burnett was carrying.
He was charged with possession of a loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of
"Our cops did a great job this morning pulling a .32 handgun off the streets," the NYPD's 20th Precinct reported.
