NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man shot his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend in a Brooklyn apartment Sunday afternoon before shooting himself in the head, police said.
Two of those shot — the ex-girlfriend, 24-year-old Jened Duncan and the gunman, 30-year-old Darnell Solomon — died after being rushed to Kings County Hospital, according to police.
The second man — the woman's 33-year-old current boyfriend — was shot in the chest and was in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital, police said.
The shooting unfolded around 2 p.m. on Utica Avenue, near Avenue N, in the Flatlands neighborhood.
Police told 1010 WINS that the ex-boyfriend shot the other two in a second-floor apartment before turning the gun on himself.
Neighbors say they heard the shooting involved a jealous boyfriend who came to find his girlfriend with another man.
Utica Avenue was closed off as police investigated the shooting. Investigators recovered a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun at the scene.
