NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A gunman shot and wounded a 31-year-old man in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, several blocks away from a church in which a 62-year-old man was fatally shot on Monday, the NYPD said.
A gunman in a dark grey Mazda shot the 31-year-old man once in the lower torso in front of 365 Chauncey Street, near Howard Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, around 1:10 p.m. on Monday, police said.
The man was taken to Kings County Hospital Center for treatment, the NYPD said. He was expected to survive.
The shooting happened a day after 62-year-old Edward James was fatally shot inside Glorious Church of God on Haley Street, at Marcus Garvey Boulevard.
James was a caretaker at the church, according to reports.
