LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- A man allegedly stabbed another person in neck at a town hall in Lakewood Thursday morning, before he punched a police officer in the eye, WABC reports.
The attack happened at Lakewood Township's municipal building around 10:55 a.m.
The attack appeared to be random. The victim has non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were alerted after panic alarms were activiated.
They arrived at the scene and found a man "acting disorderly."
When police approached the man, "he stood up and, without warning, punched at least one officer in the eye," WABC reported.
The man was taken into custody and the knife recovered.
