NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Bronx deli worker was shot and killed by a masked man who walked into the business and opened fire Friday night.
The deli worker was behind the counter at the B&A Gourmet Deli on Brook Avenue in Mott Haven around 6:40 p.m. when the gunman walked in and shot him at least two times in the torso, police said.
The motive is unclear, as nothing was taken from the deli, police said.
Police released images of the suspect on Sunday.
Edith Robles was a regular at the deli and said she can't understand who would want to shoot the worker.
"Somebody you know. Somebody you're used to seeing every day," she said.
Jasmine said she also knew the victim.
"He's like one of them people, you don't even have to say what you want. He knows what you want right away. He's a nice guy," she said.
The Yemeni American Merchants Association is offering a reward in the case.
