NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- More than 15,000 New York City public school teachers will work from home this year, according to a report.
New York City Department of Education data shows approximately 15,900 teachers will be working remotely "due to health and age concerns," the New York Post reported.
That figure represents around 21 percent of the department's teachers, according to the outlet.
Approximately 12 percent of the department's principals — around 200 principals — will also be working from home, the outlet reported.
The first day of the fall public school semester is Sept. 21.
