NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A neighbor found a 2-year-old wearing a diaper on the stoop of a Bronx home, officials said.

He was wearing nothing but a diaper and bib."There was a baby on the steps crying and crying, and as a mom instinct kicked in," Melvin said to the Daily News. "He reached for me so I just picked him up." ""It was freezing," she added. "When I picked him up he was so cold. And being so cold he had to have been out there for at least 20 to 30 minutes."Melvin took the toddler to her mother's home to cloth him before taking him to the FDNY.EMTs transported the child to Lincoln Hospital for evaluation.
FDNY officials went to search for the toddler's family who lived right where the baby had been found. The mother of the baby, Lucenny Guzman, left for work leaving the toddler with his 14-year-old aunt who was asleep in the apartment at the time, the child's aunt said.
That's when the child managed to escape the apartment door and made it onto the stoop, according to police. The child's mother was notified by the FDNY and was reunited at the hospital, officials said.So far, no charges have been filed.
