NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A soon-to-launch online dashboard will track COVID-19 metrics at every school in New York state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

The state's new "COVID-19 Report Card" will be updated daily with COVID-19 data sorted by school and school district, Cuomo said in a release.

The dashboard will include the following data from public and private schools across the state:

  • Positive infections by date of students & staff by school & school district
  • Whether school/district (& student and staff) are remote, in-person, or hybrid
  • Number of students and staff on-site
  • Percentage of on-site students & staff who test positive
  • Number of tests administered by the school, test type, lab used and lag time
  • Date of last submission/update

School districts will provide their data to the state's health department, and the department will update the dashboard in real-time, Cuomo said. The COVID-19 Report Card will go live once schools go into session, he added.

"Facts empower people to make informed decisions for the health and safety of themselves and their families," he said in a statement. "The COVID-19 Report Card will give parents, faculty and students the most up-to-date information on the status of their school and their district's testing and results."

The governor's announcement came two days after the state launched a COVID-19 dashboard to keep track of cases at SUNY colleges and universities.
