TRENTON (1010 WINS) – Legislation to establish an autonomous vehicle task force in New Jersey was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday.
The bipartisan resolution creates the 11-member “New Jersey Advanced Autonomous Vehicle Task Force.”

Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, who sponsored the legislation, says that driverless cars are “part of America’s transportation system future.”
“Autonomous vehicle innovations are sparking a new career field with endless possibilities for our workforce,” Kean said in a statement.
Kean says the task force will study and recommend the best policies for driverless cars as they’re integrated onto the state’s highways and roadways.
New Jersey joins 29 other states that have ratified bills for autonomous vehicles, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
