TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey reported seven new COVID-19 deaths and 457 new positive cases on Tuesday after adding five states to its travel advisory.
The new cases and fatalities brought the state’s cumulative case total to 200,580 and its death toll to 14,285, Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted. All seven of the people who passed away died within the past 12 days, Murphy said.
As of Monday evening, 417 people in New Jersey were hospitalized with confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases, 80 of whom were in intensive care and 34 of whom were on ventilators, the state’s COVID-19 tracker shows.
New Jersey also joined New York and Connecticut in adding five states to its list of COVID-19 hotspots from which travelers must self-quarantine for 14 days: Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island and Wyoming.
