NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A couple from Queens welcomed the city's first 2019 baby just a few seconds past midnight.
The child, whose parents are from Kew Gardens, came into this world 7 seconds past midnight at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
The little boy has yet to be given a name, so doctors have nicknamed him "007."
Just 23 seconds later, Dion Karpuzi was born to a Brooklyn couple at Staten Island University Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
The first baby born in the New York City hospital system this year waited until 12:56 a.m. to arrive at Harlem Hospital.
Génesis Elisa Noriega weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and is the third child for Gabino Noriega and Maria Contreras.
