That brings the statewide total of positive COVID-19 cases to 618 with 12 deaths. Seventy-one people are in the hospital, Lamont said.

Lamont is also going to extend school closures a few more weeks.

"The executive order that I will sign later today will extend the cancellation of classes at schools statewide to at least April 20. We need to make sure our schools are safe for students and staff, and we will continue consulting with health experts as this situation progresses," Lamont said.

On Friday, Lamont signed an executive order that requires all "non-essential" businesses and nonprofit organizations, to shut down or have workers their employees to work from home. The restrictions, part of Lamont's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" message to residents, is in effect through April 22.

Lamont cleared up a rumor on Tuesday regarding road closures and said all highways and roads are open.
