NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 34-year-old man has died from COVID-19, making him one of the youngest victims of the coronavirus.
Jeffrey Ghazarian, of Glendora, California had recently flown from LA to Orlando for a work conference on March. 2.
Ghazarian developed a cough on March 7 and the next day coughed up blood, his family said. Two days later he flew home to LAX and went to the ER.
Ghazarian had a high fever and a chest x-ray showed he had pneumonia, his family said. He was then tested for COVID-19 and it came back positive. He was sent to the ICU and died March 19 -- less than a week later.
Ghazarian suffered from asthma and bronchitis as a child. His sister posted, "Jeff is 34 years young. He had a history of asthma and frequent bronchitis as a child. He has outgrown this and hasn't needed an inhaler for years."
He also survived testicular cancer in 2016.
"Our sweet, loving, fun Jeffrey went to be with Jesus this morning. He suffered a lot and put up a good fight. We will miss our Jeff everyday but we are thankful for all the fun happy memories of the times we had together,"his sister Lauren said on Facebook.
"Thank you to everyone who has been praying. We love you all," she added.
