NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Uber has reached a $4.4 million settlement after an investigation into sexual harassment and retaliation at the company.
Bloomberg Law reports that the settlement follows an investigation by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission into whether the company encouraged a culture of harassment and retaliation. The settlement will go towards current or former Uber employees who the EEOC finds were victims of harassment or retaliation since 2014.
The company also agreed to create a system to track employees who are accused of harassment multiple times and managers who fail to act on complains of harassment, according to Bloomberg.
"This agreement holds Uber accountable, and, going forward, positions the company to innovate and transform the tech industry by modeling effective measures against sexual harassment and retaliation," EEOC Commissioner Victoria Lipnic said in a statement.
