NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was struck and killed Thursday by an MTA bus she had just exited.
The accident happened at 9 a.m. at Flatlands and Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.
The bus came to a stop and then started to pull out when the woman began kicking the door to get out, police said.
She suffered trauma to her head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver stayed at the scene, and so far has not been charged.
"The death of a woman who was struck by bus #4236 operating on the B41 route this morning is tragic," Craig Cipriano, SVP Department of Buses and Acting President of MTA Bus Company. "NYC Transit and NYPD investigations into what happened, how, and why are in the early stages, so any conclusions as to cause would be inappropriately speculative at this time."
