NJ home severely damaged by fire after lightning strikes area multiple times

RUTHERFORD, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A home in New Jersey was severely damaged by fire after lightning struck the area multiple times.  A report from NJ.com says the family was able to escape the two-alarm fire, which broke out on Ridge Road in Rutherford sometime after 5 a.m. Monday. So far, two firefighters and a police officer are being treated for minor smoke inhalation.

According to a report from News12, Rutherford Police Chief John Russo says an investigation still needs to be done, but it’s "looking like" a lightning strike caused the fire.
