The truck was parked at the time, but as the man scooted underneath, the driver started the vehicle and drove away.
Edison cops say it was a 30-year-old Princeton man who was walking back to a hotel with a friend around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The truck was stopped at a gas station when the man tried to sneak underneath.
The man was hit by the truck's rear tires and dragged about 10 feet.
The driver was unaware he had hit the man and drove off. He was eventually tracked down in Philadelphia, and returned to Edison to cooperate with investigators. He will not face any charges.
The injured man's friend was not struck by the truck.
