NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A New Jersey mom was driving drunk with her two children when she crashed into a building in Newark early Friday, police say.Officials were called to the accident at 800 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue at 1:15 a.m. and removed an 8-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy from the vehicle, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.
Authorities say the girl suffered fractures in her legs and pelvis, while the boy suffered a wrist injury.The mother suffered facial fractures and had to be removed by officials from the car.
EMS transported Harrison and her two children to University Hospital.
Officials say the boy was treated and released, but the girl and mother still remain in serious condition.
43-year-old Sonya Harrison is facing endangering the welfare of children and DWI charges, Ambrose said. Harrison was also issued summonses for driving without a seat belt and other motor vehicle violations.
