NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The head of a patrol borough in Brooklyn will become the NYPD’s new Community Affairs Bureau chief, the department said Wednesday.
Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, the commanding officer of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, will lead the Community Affairs Bureau, the NYPD said in a tweet.
The appointment is part of the department’s effort to make “‘a clean slate’ for change,'" it said.
The NYPD’s current Community Affairs Bureau head, Chief Nilda Hoffman, will take over the department’s Transportation Bureau.
NYPD Chief of Transportation William Morris died of complications related to COVID-19 earlier this month.
Chief of Special Victims Judith Harrison will take over Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, the NYPD said.
