NYPD arrests 3 suspects accused of dousing cops with water in 2 incidents

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Three suspects were arrested on accusations of dumping water on police officers in two separate incidents that appeared on viral videos which surfaced Monday, sources tell 1010 WINS.

One suspect is accused of dumping water on officers in Brownsville and two suspects are accused of dumping buckets of water on police officers in Harlem.

NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan said in a tweet that a 28-year-old man, who he describes as a known gang member, was arrested for the Brooklyn incident.

On Tuesday, authorities released photos of three young men who were accused of tossing buckets of water at police officers arresting a suspect in Harlem last Sunday. which illicited a harsh response from the NYPD and local lawmakers. 

One of the police officers was hit in the head with a bucket. NYPD said the officer "suffered pain and swelling to the back of his head."
