NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Cops say he was a tough guy until he found out he was threatening an NYPD officer.
The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly pulled a knife and threatened an off-duty officer Friday morning -- before fleeing when the officer revealed his profession.
The officer was at the Corte Café on Lafayette Street downtown shortly before 7 a.m. when he got into an argument with another patron, the suspect.
Police say when the officer left the guy followed him and later pulled a knife out and threatened him.
After the cop told him he was on the job, the suspect took off on foot.
No injuries were reported.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect Saturday morning.
