NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 77-year-old Brooklyn man was robbed and a 29-year-old Bronx woman was nearly assaulted after the two of them were followed into their homes by intruders in separate incidents this week, police said.
The 77-year-old man was targeted late Sunday afternoon at his home near Avenue N and East 48th Street in the Flatlands, police said.
The man was returning home when a man with a knife followed him inside and pushed him to the ground, police said.
The suspect then forced the victim into a parked vehicle and drove him to a nearby Chase bank on Flatbush Avenue, where he made the victim withdraw $1,800 in cash, police said.
The suspect, described by police as a man in his 20s, took off on foot, leaving the vehicle behind.
Then on Tuesday in the Bronx, a different man followed a 29-year-old woman into her apartment building on Harrison Avenue in University Heights, police said.
The man tried to start a conversation with the woman while touching himself over his clothing, according to police.
The woman closed the door to her apartment, but the door was unlocked and the man let himself in.
The man then followed her to the bathroom and tried to assault her, but she closed that door as well, causing him to flee the building, police said.
The suspect was last seen heading northbound on Harrison Avenue, towards Burnside Avenue, in a black, four-door sedan, police said.
Both victims were not injured in the home invasions and refused medical attention, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance video of both suspects on Thursday.
