NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is on the hunt for a man who stole a beverage from a Bronx bodega and proceeded to slash the face of an employee when he was confronted, officials said.
"An unidentified male entered a bodega located at 1801 University Avenue and removed a beverage without paying," the NYPD said in a statement. "A 23-year-old male store employee attempted to stop the male, at which time he was slashed in the face with a box cutter. The male fled northbound on University Avenue."
EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he received 10 stitches to his left cheek.
The person wanted for questioning is described as a black man, approximately 16-19 years of age, 5'7", and 145lbs; he last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
