NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is on the hunt for two men who robbed and beat a man in the Bronx.
On Jan. 20, two men approached a 19-year-old man from behind, placed him in a chokehold and slammed him down to the ground, rendering him unconscious, police said.
The individuals punched and kicked the victim in the head repeatedly while he lay unconscious and then removed his cell phone and an undetermined amount of money. The individuals fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim was removed to an area hospital in critical condition with fractures to his face, bleeding in the brain and lacerations to his head in addition to pain and bruising.
The first individual is a black man last seen wearing a blue coat with a fur-lined hood, black jeans and black and white sneakers.
The second individual is a black man last seen wearing a black coat with a fur-lined hood, a dark colored hooded sweater, gray pants and black and white sneakers.
